£2,000 Employment Allowance for Care & Support Workers

£2,000 Employment Allowance for Support & Care WorkersThis month changes to National Insurance Contributions came in to effect as Employment Allowance was extended to personal carers.

The news that employers of care and support workers are to benefit from the new introductions will positively affect a large portion of our smaller payroll clients who receive direct payments from their local authorities to pay for care at home, saving them money.

Rolling out the employment allowance to individuals who employ care and support workers will cut employment costs by up to £2,000 a year ultimately supporting families and their relatives all across the country.

Highlights from Budget Day 2015

Last month George Osborne stepped up to make his last budget announcement of the current government before the May elections. The Chancellor of the Exchequer had already announced the spending plan for 2015/16 where was heard plans to cut £11.5 billion throughout the year. Along with many other changes we also saw public sector staff set to lose automatic annual pay increases; winter fuel payments to become subject to ‘heat tests’; and welfare capped.

With speculation rife and the media in overdrive with predictions in the lead up to March 18th, the guessing game is finally over. In our latest blog, First Call Financials would like to highlight to you some of Osborne’s major changes; take a look below.
